HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH!

Although everyday I celebrate my blackness and try to consciously purchase Black, this month I vow to go, do and be Black Excellence!

Today is officially the first day of Black History month! Black History Month is an annual observance originating in the United States, dedicated to honoring the triumphs and struggles of African Americans throughout U.S. history.

This year's theme, Black Health and Wellness, pays homage to medical scholars and health care providers (there's a new theme everywhere).

May we never forget Breonna Taylor and all other victims.

February was chosen primarily because the second week of the month coincides with the birthdays of both Abraham Lincoln (emancipation of slaves) and Frederick Douglass (prominent leader in the abolitionist movement).
