Although everyday I celebrate my blackness and try to consciously purchase Black, this month I vow to go, do and be Black Excellence! Today is officially the first day of Black History month! Black History Month is an annual observance originating in the United States, dedicated to honoring the triumphs and struggles of African Americans throughout U.S. history.
This year's theme, Black Health and Wellness, pays homage to medical scholars and health care providers (there's a new theme everywhere).
May we never forget Breonna Taylor and all other victims.
In the words of my Geo-Aunty it’s Friday, COVID chronicles, Day 200 and something!
Or as Rihanna once sang, “Cheers to the freaking the weekend!” But what is the weekend during a pandemic?
Afterall, we have been mostly indoors isolating. Trying to stay as healthy as possible, not only for our own well-being, but also for the well-being of all the medical and custodial staff who have been heavily impacted since the onslaught of the pandemic.
With that being said, I have entered the phase of the pandemic, where I am, and honestly, I have to, mix things up for my personal mental health.
