Though Trinidad and Tobago are sister isles, and I proudly identify as Trinbagonian, it’s only fitting that my first official letter be written to Trinidad, W.I.

I wanted to write individual letters for each of the sister isles as I believe this is the perfect way to thoroughly highlight the beauty and uniqueness of each, to those less familiar.

So as you get ready to journey with me to the land of oil and music, here are a few fun facts to get you oriented!

Trinidad, aka the southernmost island in the Caribbean chain, is the larger island of the twin island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. The island is located approximately 11 kilometers (6.8 miles) from the northeastern coast of Venezuela, and 130 kilometers (81 miles) south of Grenada.
